About me....

I'm a 39yr old mumma to Luca(8) and 5yr old twin girls Emmy and Georgia (what a shock to the system that news was..) My husband and I sat in the waiting room for our 12wk scan disagreeing on whether we would go for number 3 after this '1' I was adamant we'd stop a two and we'd never be pitching up for a 12wk scan again, well I was partly right...
So with 3 little ones my flying career as long haul cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic was going to be pretty impossible and I really wanted to be there for them at home and savour these early years...
So my family are my first love, fashion is my second. I'm not a follower of high fashion, I believe you should wear what you want and what suits you, adding accessories or using one part of your outfit to give a nod to whatever the current trend is. I like to mix high end with high street, its all about balance (financially and aesthetically) I spent 10yrs travelling and shopping the world as crew so changing to a stay at home mummy was a huge lifestyle change! That's where the idea of blogging started, a way to keep my finger on the fashion pulse. I began ThePurpleCapsule over 3yrs ago but have neglected it massively over the last couple of years. Began to doubt myself and lost my confidence after such a lifestyle change but I've really missed writing about pieces I've found and outfits I've put together so I've decided to start her up again! I don't claim to be an expert by any means but I love giving others ideas and also reading what you guys like/dislike.
So in conclusion, my mantra is if you love it, wear it, forget the rules (within reason, there's no room for Crocs on adult feet, under 16's only right...?!?

Back to Black

Can't resist an all black day now and then....the pop of colour being the skinny orange belt, sticking with just the one colour pop works best in all black. Love ripped denim, I find dragging a knife (carefully.....!) along the knee or wherever you want works best to give a more authentic ripped/worn look.

Orange is the new black

I've been so guilty of wearing black 24/7 so have decided to brave a bit of colour recently! This dress is a gorgeous shade of orange that goes surprisingly well teamed with pink.

Red nails Red lips

I ❤️ bright red nails/lips combo. Teamed with a striped top and your favourite jeans, brings the look together with a polished feel. This colour is a Rimmel 'scented' polish πŸ’œ

Pinks

This clutch bag is actually sold as a 'make-up' bag, reducing the price and still doubles up as a perfect clutch. They come in an array of different colours and can be dressed up/down πŸ’œ

Casual evening

Always loved denim cut offs yet wondered how old was a no no...
Found these in Next, really lovely fit, low but higher at the back. They did have a lace trim around the legs which I snipped off to give a more casual look. Worn with a Peter Pan collar navy blouse (semi tucked) and flat pumps. The blue clutch adds a pop of colour (husband managed to crush it in the bottom of the buggy but both he and the bag sprung back to life thankfully πŸ˜‰) πŸ’œ

Maxi dress multi-ways

This is a beautifully fluid maxi dress perfect for summer evenings. It's from Miss Guided and very reasonably priced... As an alternative to it swishing around your feet why not grab one of the sides and tie it up... Teaming it with a glossy skinny belt and statement necklace dresses it up perfectly. The gladiator sandals are Ash. Can also be worn with heels for a function, the So Kate Louboutins look great with it and if you can last longer than my max of an hour in them fair play sista..!! πŸ’œ

Swimwear for boobs

So the flight was 4hrs delayed and every bit as dreadful as expected...that even the stiffest of G&T's couldn't ease...

But now I'm on the beach with the very best of supportive swimwear I've found...scaffolding if you like. After 3 babies I've no business in a bikini so this is the perfect one piece.

Travelling togs ☀️

So we're off to Portugal, all 5 of us.....can hardly wait for that flight.....
This jumpsuit is perfect for such a day. It's a great balance stylish and comfortable, with a gorgeous low front crossover and an elasticated waist (now that does sound mumsy, eeeek)
Teamed with a cute pair of funky ballet flats it makes a great daytime outfit.

Statement Necklaces

Love my collection of statement necklaces. Personally I think they're at their best when teamed with a fresh white T and your favourite jeans. Dressed up with heels and a clutch or flats and oversized bag for a daytime look. I'd searched for ages looking for a quality/classy statement necklace and found these lil beauties in Stella&Dot (on-line) not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion. Go check it out....

The First Blog

This is a cute mixture of designer with high street. Perfect for a summers night out. I've also worn this outfit with flat black gladiator sandals for a daytime look which also works. Without wanting to sound all 'Gok Wan' wrapping a skinny nude belt around the top of the skirt breaks up the blk/pink combo beautifully. Bright pink teamed with oxblood works surprisingly well, give it a go......
